The Zodiacs - Singles (1964-1967) (Norway)
Norwegian rock band active in the early 60's
Musicians: Ivar Hansen, Oddvar Nokling, Tore Haugland, Rasmus Sand, Tore Herman Nilsen
The Zodiacs is a rock group from Rjuka, founded in 1962. They became known as instrumental guitar groups before switching style to vocal 60's beat music with both The Kinks and Zombies on the repertoire. The band got a contract with record company "Troll" and released eight single plates there in the years 1964-1967. They played diligently and succeeded in the radio show 'Ti In The Shoot' in 1965 when the single 'Rush On' reached a 4th place. But after a failed attempt at success in Denmark, The Zodiacs was dissolved by the end of 1966 (the last 'Troll' single came out after the band was dissolved).
[Not to be confused with 'Ian & The Zodiacs' - an English band formed in 1958,
originally known as 'The Zodiacs', in Liverpool -
led by Ian Edwards, the band relocating to Germany in 1964,
where they achieved national success.]
