Repost
This is the only post-Dave Clark Five recording by Mike Smith, the band's incredible lead singer. For this 1976 release, Smith teams up with Mike D'Abo, another fine singer who was Manfred Mann's lead vocalist during the "Mighty Quinn" psychedelic years.
There's really no sign of their original bands on this recording, but these guys are fine pop songwriters whose voices blend beautifully together. Throw in the clean recording you expect from mid-'70s records, and you have a solid listening experience.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I was thinking of digging this LP up two days ago when I was playing a MANFRED MANN, and off - shoots 2 CD set put out by the Aussie Raven label several years ago. I got the vinyl when it first came out. I always did love the Manfreds [both singers] and DC5 too. Dmitrich for the digital version.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work.
