  6. Hello there gents, here's a request, one of the bands here on this comp above, The Wildflower have an album released in 2008 with all their recorded stuff. Would you guys have time to look for this one, unfortunately I can't find it myself as I'm probably not clever enough! :)
Much appreciate it if you are able to hunt for this one. CD is called Forty Years in the Blink of an Eye by the Wildflower.

Best & thanks again for all the great albums here,
    Nick

    1. Hi Nick
"Forty Years In the Blink of an Eye" 2008 is a reunion as I understand it. I have very contradictory feelings towards such albums, because it does not always correspond to the originals and your expectations... The same "Coffee Cup" sounds completely different and this is not what I would like to hear. By the way, the same thing with The Glass Family. How good their first album is and how few impressions from the reunion in "Invisible World". Well, yes, beautiful music, excellent arrangements and behind all this aging voices that no longer have that temperament... BUT. This is purely my opinion and not always so categorical, because reunions can also be excellent and open up new facets of the performers for you. I could not find the album "Forty Years In the Blink..." in its entirety. I listened to it on https://music.apple.com/us/album/forty-years-in-the-blink-of-an-eye/291790953
Good music, referring to the original sources, made primarily for myself and fans. If I manage to find this album, I will post it, of course, but for now the search is limited to only excerpts music.apple.com and the ability to listen to the whole thing on https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJC5bOVBufwBd1z5QcDYWA1K-Gh1BJLM6
Ask your question in the chat. Perhaps those who have ITunes can help you. Good luck

  7. Thanks Dmitrich for that info & comment. If its a reunion, well, that doesn't really grab me, I was hoping it was stuff recorded back in the 60s & released finally, as has happened many times with people digging up old tapes/recordings etc. I like the 'old' 60s analogue sound, having said that reunions can be successful. The live album 1993 Velvet Underground was brilliant, but mostly more flops & disappointments. The 21 Century Electric Prunes albums have some real gems on them also. Once again, many thanks for your website & passion to keep all this music easily accessible!! It's now mostly over 60 years old!!! And they're all dying. Cheers, Nick

    1. Thank you for your comment. I absolutely agree with you. The sound of the 60s is different from the remastered editions and even more so from the reunions many years later. This includes the sound of the instruments, the vocals, the line-up - everything is different... Although I understand how important this is for the performers and their fans. But in general, unknown things from the early period collected bit by bit (old tapes/recordings etc.) and released separately are more interesting. Although, of course, this is not always possible. I have these two Electric Prunes albums that you write about. This is good music, but it is different... Accepting it is a matter of taste. But I will always compare and evaluate it with the early works of Electric Prunes. To feel the difference in expression, it is enough to listen (for example) to their live performance in Stockholm... But once again, this is purely my opinion. The sound of the 60s is what I prefer. Thank you.

  8. Having said all that, I wonder with AI now they will be able to replicate exactly that distinct 60s sound. They do a good job already with, say Frank Sinatra singing the Doors' Love Street etc. https://www.tiktok.com/@coverbanddj/video/7348326691011398955
And those first 2 Electric Prunes albums & the live one in Stockholm, well you just can't bet them! Cheers Nick the Battery Prune
