The Lost - Early Recordings; Demos, Acoustic and Live 1965-1966

Early Recordings: Demos, Acoustic and Live 1965-1966 Review by Cub Koda.

The New England-based band the Lost are one of those garage bands from the '60s with a much wider recorded history than their scant discography would indicate. A large chunk of it is here to check out on Early Recordings: Demos, Acoustic, and Live (1965-1966). That the group had arranging and songwriting skills above and beyond those of the garden-variety teen band becomes immediately apparent on the first two tracks, "No Reason Why" and "Everybody Knows," which both feature catchy hooks fueled by stomp-down riffs. Things get more musically psychedelic and stretch out at the end, but that's the way these '60s slugfests usually end up. The Lost were a band with impressive chops; perhaps this release will get them a wider audience in the digital age.
