The Camel Drivers (Sunday Morning 6 O'clock) Single 45 (1967) (FR)

Abdul and the Camel Drivers emerged from the union of three fraternity partners from Olivet College, Michigan . In late 1963, Dick Nahikian (guitar), Tom Curlin (rhythm guitar) and Terry Connon (bass) were joined by Jeff Mate on drums. Tom's brother, Dave Curlin , joined the group in 1964.
Shortly after graduation, Dick left the group, at which point the group was renamed simply Camel Drivers . To replace Dick Nahikian , Greg Sanders joined as lead guitar.

They were active until 1970, period in which they released a total of 5 singles for the Top Dog label and two for Buddah.

In 1967 they published The Grass Looks Greener / It's Gonna Rain for Top Dog with the production of Artie Fields. The Grass Looks Greener was compiled by Tony The Tiger for his third volume of Fuzz, Flaykes, & Shakes (Stay Out of My World).

His next single, and perhaps the best known, was Sunday Morning Six O'Clock . Personally I prefer the B Give It A Try side , more in the vein of The Grass Looks Greener . This single was subsequently reissued on the BUDDAH label (ref: BDA 61) and on PYE (ref: 7N 25471). In the French edition of Buddah (ref. 610016) the title appears as Sunday Morning at 6 O'Clock .

Enjoy
