Velvet Revolutions: Psychedelic Rock From The Eastern Bloc 1968–1973 is a compilation released by the UK reissue label Particles, gathering seventeen psychedelic rock tracks recorded behind the Iron Curtain between 1968 and 1973. The selection draws on Hungarian acts (Illés, Neoton, Illes Zenckar), Czechoslovak bands (Juventus, Olympic, Blue Effect) and Polish groups (Czerwono Czarni, No To Co, Breakout), alongside East German outfits (Scirroco Combo, Joco Dev Sextett, Electra Combo).
The compilation's packaging drew criticism for its historical and geographic inaccuracies — reviewer Kostas at presentingmyrecordcollection points out that the title references the 1989 Velvet Revolution despite the music predating it by 15–20 years, and that the Cyrillic-style lettering and Soviet-soldier cover art misrepresent countries that used the Latin alphabet.

Velvet Revolutions Volume Two 1968-1971 (Psychedelic Rock From The Eastern Bloc)
Velvet Revolutions Volume Two is the second compilation in the UK label Particles' series devoted to psychedelic rock from behind the Iron Curtain, following up on the 2013 release Velvet Revolutions: Psychedelic Rock From The Eastern Bloc 1968–1973. The twenty tracks span 1967 to 1971 and draw on acts from Czechoslovakia (Olympic, The Matadors, Blue Effect), Yugoslavia (Kameleoni, Grupa 220, Crni Biseri), Poland (Breakout, Romuald I Roman, No To Co) and Hungary (Hungaria, Illes, Omega, Progress Organisation).
Olympic feature four times on the compilation and are credited with being the founding fathers of Eastern Bloc rock, according to dereksmusicblog, which traces the band's evolution across four different studio albums represented here, from their 1968 debut Želva through to 1971's Jedeme Jedeme 3. The same source follows several lineage threads across the set — noting that members of The Matadors formed Blue Effect after the former group's 1968 split, and that Kameleoni, close to disbanding in 1968, were saved by a commission to score Yugoslav director Boštjan Hladnik's film Sunny Cry.
