Tajfuny Polish instrumental and vocal-instrumental band, formed in October 1963 in the Warsaw club "Stodola" on the basis of Big Beat sextet. He modeled himself on foreign guitar groups such as the Shadows, The Ventures, Outlaws and the Spotnicks. In his repertoire, in addition to his own compositions and collaborations with the ensemble of composers (Sadowski, Korzyński, Loranc), he also had works on various musical themes[1], m.in. Polish versions of Cliff Richard's songs (it'll Be Me-When you'll be mine, When the Girl In Your Arms-if you only knew her, Lucky Lips-Takie nic) performed by Janusz Godlewski
Repertoire? At first it was really dominated by instrumental pieces "borrowed" from the Blue-Blacks (voice of prairie) or French Les Chaussettes Noires (time of conversation), then there were remakes of hits by Fogg (suede blouse) and Mirska (West Wind), Sadowski's surf (tram number 24, at the Cosmodrome), as well as, treated exclusively as musical curiosities, joint recordings with the Polish Negro Jan why does a bear sleep in winter?, Beatles ' Yesterday, i.e. an ordinary day in 1966) and vocal performances by drummer Tumidajski (colours of Smile, a year later). Undoubtedly, Kendelewicz's compositions are worthy of attention and praise in the Typhoon repertoire: Open Sesame, under such a bright sky (for Florczyk), because the Rose also has thorns, let's finally move on to you (for Gąssowski). Typhoons gained a lot from their friendship and cooperation with Maciej Kossowski and Zbigniew Bizon, who in 1967 took care of the Warsaw band so quickly that they quickly dominated the three instrumentalists. So it is not surprising that at the beginning of the next year the Typhoons turned into Bison-a formation whose style and repertoire was determined, Of course, by the Bison
