Canadian rock musician, guitarist and songwriter Dennis Eugene McCrohan was born on April 21, 1943 in
Oshawa ( Ontario ). In the early 60s, Dennis and his brother Jerry took the name Edmonton. In the second
half of the 60s, the brothers played in the group « The Sparrows », which will later take the name
« Steppenwolf ». Another member of « The Sparrows » Bruce Palmer joined the « Buffalo Springfield »
group. Mars Bonfire began a solo career, while his brother Jerry became the drummer of « Steppenwolf ».
In 1968, the musician's only solo album was released. The following year, « Columbia » released an
album called « Faster Than The Speed Of Life » with a different order of tracks. Mars Bonfire is
also known as a co-author of the « Steppenwolf » — « Born To Be Wild ». He subsequently
collaborated with Kim Fowley.
