Nobby Clarke was the original lead singer of the once wildly popular teen band The Bay City Rollers. Of course, “The Rollers from the City on the Bay” (that’s how this name can be translated, if you really try) is far from the universal fame of the legendary quartet “The Beatles,” but they still generated some kind of craze among impressionable teenagers. “Rollermania” has become a kind of dietary substitute for “Beatlemania” for those who, due to their kindergarten age, did not catch it at the time of its appearance.

Gordon Fraser Clark was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on September 10, 1950. Nobby, as you probably already guessed, is not a name, but a nickname or, roughly speaking, a nickname. “Nobby” means elegant...
In 1964, Derek Longmuir invited his school friend Gordon Clark to join his band The Saxons as lead vocalist. At the dance, the guys played popular American action films from the catalog of the Motown Records company, such as “Please Mr. Postman" and "Heat Wave" until they finally managed to convince local show business tycoon, club owner and big band leader Tam Paton to promote them. Well, things have finally moved forward.
To begin with, they changed the name to “Rollers from the City on the Bay.”
Nobby Clark recorded five singles with the Rollers, two of which reached the top ten in the UK: “Keep on Dancing” (#9) and “Remember (Sha-La-La-La)” (#6)
In 1977, "Nobby" Clark released his debut "forty-five" in Germany with his own songs "Steady Love" and "Love will save the day." The single will be greeted with warm enthusiasm by the loyal fans of the old "Rollers" who did not accept their new incarnation. In the eighties, Clark began composing music for French films and invested cash in creating a rehearsal space and recording studio in his native Edinburgh.
In 2003, on the modest Jak Records label, relased Nobby's first full-length album, entitled If Only and released with the active support of his old friend David Paton. Once upon a time Paton played in “Rollers” and then created a very successful project “Pilot”...
