Va - Eesti Rocki Lapsepõlv 1966-1976 + Väntorel ‎LP 1971

In 1965-1967 ensembles appeared in large numbers, and the musicians of many of them later became firmly established on the stage. For example, Tõnis Mägi participated in RYUTMIKS, and then in BALTIC, the basis of which was created in November. 1965 OPTIMISTS were Heigo Mirka, Harry and Tit Kırvits - now members of the popular ROCK HOTEL; the former head of OPTIMISTS Toomas Kurvits became the founder of the group KUKERPILLID, playing in the country style, but with the introduction of national motives; Jaak Joala started in the CRYSTAL beat group (1966), Gunnar Graps - in MICRONS (1967).

There were many groups, and their listing is unlikely to say anything to the modern reader. The very richness of life in this musical sphere is important since the mid-60s.

Apr 28. 1968 at the Kosmos cinema in Tallinn, a big concert of beat groups took place, reflecting the relatively high level of Estonian beat music. If you single out someone especially, then, perhaps, VIMALISED (founded in 1965). The director Mark Soosaar (now the most famous Estonian documentary filmmaker, chairman of the board of the ESSR Filmmakers Union) then made a 15-minute color film about the group.

The next wave of development of Estonian rock music came in the early 70s, when most bands began to work almost entirely with their own author's repertoire, completing the process that began in the late 60s. However, the ratio of their own and arranged "foreign" works did not have an absolute value: the musicians willingly included classical rock and rolls, program works of foreign authors in concert programs, as long as they corresponded to the direction of the group. But those were only separate numbers, and for them the appropriate form was selected. In this case, it is important that Estonians, consciously or intuitively, emphasized the continuity of their own creativity and its genetic origins. ~ mimimih ( МЕЛОМАН.
