Well, we continue with the second part of this brilliant collection made by our friend Lomas.
This time, there are quite a few bands, the vast majority unknown, even in Spain, possibly due to their limited discography, and it is that in Spain it happened as in many countries, that a few bands monopolized all the attention, here, "Los Brincos" were ours. No. 1, they were called "The Spanish Beatles", and deservedly, because it was not a group of a few good songs, but of innumerable. Then there were eight or ten bands that were popular, like "Bravos", "Salvajes", "Lone Star", "Cheyenes", Micky y Los Tonys "," Pekenikes "," Relámpagos "and a few more.
Then there were countless bands that released a single or Ep and they quickly forgot. This is the case of the bands in this volume, perhaps the most famous were "Los Pumas", and I was moved to remember the version they made of the success of "Heinz", entitled "Just Like Eddie" and that the Spanish titled "Con Mi Guitar". What surprises me is that the single from "Heinz", like many others, were not for sale in Spain, so it has merit that the band noticed that song and how they managed to listen to it.
About how records were heard in Spain in those years, we will have to talk in the next few days, meanwhile, enjoy this volume 2.
Thanks to Lomas for sharing these jewels and visiting his blog MELOPOP
