Hi Friends.
To begin with, I will tell you that I am a huge fan of the music of the Eastside in L.A. I find this music fascinating, with that mix of old rock and roll and the sounds of the Mexican culture settled in that city, they say that in the sixties there were a million Mexicans in the city, so it was inevitable that they would recreate their culture.
On one side of the city the Chicano gangs, strongly discriminated against and struggling to try to get ahead, and on the other the Hollywood hill, with all the luxury, the big stars, the big studios, all there very big, but the authenticity of the poor Chicano bands was captured on a lot of records.
One of his most famous bands was "The Romancers", formed by Max Uballez, a true genius and promoter of Eastside music, a great composer for the best bands such as Cannibal & The Headhunters, The Premiers or Little Ray Jimenez among others.
At the beginning of the sixties he released a couple of singles, but due to his rights issues with his record companies, he was sanctioned to be five years without being able to sing, and this is how his two LP's of Romancers come out, totally instrumental, the first "Do The Slauson "was the first album recorded by a Chicano band in LA. and today it is considered a classic of instrumental and dance music.
The album that I present today. "Let's Do the Swim" is the one they released the following year following the same trend as the previous one, with four songs composed by Uballez and the rest versions.
Disc very difficult to get, and in one of the e-mails that I come across with Max, I asked him and he told me that he would send it to me, when he finished working the different sound devices that he had recently just bought. But by chance my friend Angel from Pamplona had it and he converted it to mp3.
This album is a delight for lovers of instrumental music.

Hi Tony:
DeleteI've checked my "The Slauson Shuffle" copy.
It is not the original LP, it is a compilation of the same name from 1995, there are quite a few LP tracks, but not all of them.
I will try to get the copy of the Lp, but it may take time
