This collection Mira Kubasińska —vocalist for the renowned Polish bands Blackout and Breakout.
While the lineups of these bands changed frequently, one person remained a constant: Tadeusz Nalepa, the father of Polish blues. Widely recognized within the Polish music community as a highly influential figure—a poet, composer, and performer—Nalepa began his career at the 1963 Festival of Young Talents in Szczecin, where he and Mira Kubasińska captivated the audience. He went on to form his first band, Blackout, in Rzeszów, which quickly gained popularity. In 1968, the group was renamed Breakout. For several months, they performed in Dutch clubs, where audiences often mistook them for a British band. Their repertoire consisted largely of covers—ranging from tracks by Cream to those of Vanilla Fudge. Having earned enough money to purchase new equipment and instruments, the band returned home.
In 1970, the group became a target for those tasked with upholding "socialist morality." Polish media criticized the musicians for their long hair and pro-Western lifestyle, while radio and television stations effectively shut their doors to them. With nothing left to lose, Tadeusz Nalepa decided to turn to the blues .
From 1971 onward, Nalepa began to distinguish between two sides of his creative output: the blues-rock material released under the name Breakout, and a lighter, more melodic style—bordering on rock and pop—which was featured on the solo albums of Mira Kubasińska.
