The Haircuts And The "Impossibles" ... which were fictitious bands as this is a studio session men's pop exploitation act from Los Angeles

I didn't find any other information other than this private review on one of the sites. But I found it interesting... although it didn’t answer any questions.

"This is the 2nd LP by this exploito outfit "haircuts and the impossibles"

The first one was cool, but rather pedestrian compared to this Acid-Soul meltdown.

These exploitation records are so much fun to connect the dots to. If my hunch is right, this is the starting point to what gave birth to the "Animated Egg" LP ,and then ultimately "101 strings, Astro sounds from beyond the year..". The Astro Sounds LP is basically the holy grail of all 101 strings LP's, for obvious reasons when you hear it. Ok, so how does the Haircuts fit in here? Well, at least half of this LP "Call it soul" is comprised of songs recycled on "the animated egg" with a few added effects here and there but essentially the same, and then 101 Strings "Astro songs" then takes all the tracks from Animated Egg, adds a layer of vibrating, shimmering ominous strings and phases/flanges the F*&K right out of the whole deal creating a sonic soup for the senses.Sounds like real tape phasing, no dodgy effects pedal, a real labour of love by the producer. (i would break it down track by track in comparison, but all my LP's are currently in storage :(booo..but I will edit this at a later date with specifics) Hope this is clear here, the recycle-matic method of the alshire record label is pure fun and fab (some may say cheesy, but that's all good) Haircuts, to me, is my favorite of the bunch, just because I do prefer raw sounds, with a big punch, and it seems to be the genesis of this cash in effect, and due to no processing, you can hear every nuance of these musicians. No gimmick has been added to the Haircuts tracks(unless you consider heavy fuzz guitar a gimmick), and really if you like Go Go beats, Huge Soul sound, great guitar, and instruMENTALS this is a heavy hitter 

 It has tracks not available on any other comp, like the great BEATLES cover "Why Don't We Do It in the Road?" that is adorned with a cracking break beat at the beginning, and always moves the dance floor (and has trainspotters rushing the dj booth, which is the case with ANY song on this LP) And except for the first track, this is all instrumental exploitation psych featuring the awesome fuzz guitar of Jerry Cole.So.. "why don't we do it in the road" wasn't released by the beatles till 1968, so this makes this LP from 1968, not 1967... typical of these cash in records, no one knows definite information, and WHO IS THE GROUP THAT PLAYS ON THIS LP?? THAT IS THE BIGGEST QUESTION OF ALL!! "
