What the "Starclub" is to Hamburg, "Club St. Germain" to Paris, "Birdland" to New York or the "Badewanne" to Berlin, the "CARAMELLA" is to Zandvoort.
In recent years, Caramella's active Andre Neefs has placed dozens of orchestras and homegrown vocalists on his subdued, illuminated stage. Soloists who were given the opportunity to build a reputation in the light music world.
Here they are: Rita Reys, Milly Scott, Ann Margareth Sterman, Greetje Kauffeld, the Shepherds, Jamaica Johnny, Max Woiski Jr., the Meteoor Kwartet, lose Marcello, De Kaart, Cees Smal, Harry Verbeke, comedians Johnny Kraaykamp and Bueno de Mesquita, They all once stood on the stage of the "CARAMELLA".
The permanent house bands now include "The Holland Quintet" and the "Ger Dijkshoorn Quintet". Both bands gained their fame here, close to the North Sea Beach. Through the gramophone record, these orchestras will now also receive artistic appreciation in the rest of our country and abroad, as will - and very especially - vocal soloist Ingrid Spaak.
