The Lemon Dips – Who's Gonna Buy ? (1969) @ 320


Released on the small Music De Wolfe label* as a library recording and is material that typically serves as background music or soundtrack material. . But unlike classical soundtracks, library albums were never intended for public sale, which resulted in their very small circulation. Recorded by  studio band, the album, with a title that literally translates to “Who Will Buy?”, is musically as much a mystery as it is a major curiosity. The album is divided into a side featuring six vocal performances and a side with seven instrumental backing tracks. Five of the seven instrumentals on side two were apparently the same songs as on side one, but without the vocals. It is assumed that J. Hawksworth and P. Reno were the main members of the group of musicians (at least they are listed as such on all 13 tracks), thanks to which the album contains a wonderful selection of garage rock and psychedelic moments. "Who's Gonna Buy", "I Am Your Man" and "Unpack Your Bags" were later featured in the film "Haunted House Of Horror".
