Gary Delgado R.I.P. ...

Today I found out that my friend and one of the authors of our blog Gary Delgado (Vladimir Zuev) died ...
He was a terrific person. A collector, a great connoisseur of the history of rock music. Writer, sound engineer and musician. He was one of the members of the "4 Vityazya (Four Knights)"group, a popular in the sixties Moscow beat group. He was a kind and honest MAN.
This is a big loss for me, for all of us. For the blog "Old Melodies" ...

R.I.P my friend. R.I.P. Gary
Земля пухом тебе  Владимир

One day we will meet again

The time, when we have to go, is set
Like a leaf is carried by winds
Back to the roots, as a child
When the blood, is freezing in your veins
The way your heart stops beating
And you're flying up to the angles
Then don't have fear
and let yourself be carried
Because there's summat upon life
You will see

One day, we will meet again
One day, I'll watch from above too
On my past days, I lay down gratefully
And I will close my eyes for eternity

All that remains is the memory
and you slowly understand
that nothing will be as it was
Then shall the promise of a reunion
give strengths to my heartbeat
to go on living

One day, we will meet again
One day, I'll watch from above too
On my past days, I lay down gratefully
And I will close my eyes for eternity

A light shall shine for you until aeons
As a memory of your lifetime

One day, we will meet again
One day, I'll watch from above too
On my past days, I lay down gratefully
And I will close my eyes for eternity

On my past days, I lay down gratefully
And I will close my eyes for eternity

  9. Many times I thought if Gari Delgado, by the Spanish name, was a son of "the children of war", children who in the Spanish civil war were sent to the USSR.
    Do you know anything
    Cheers

    1. Hi,Jose
Yes, I know about that. In the nineties, I even had to work on a film about the children of the Cominternists sent to the USSR from all over Europe. It was a children's boarding house on the Vetluga River near Nizhny Novgorod. Among others there lived children from Spain too.
But why Vladimir took this pseudonym, I don’t know. Most likely he liked how it speak....

    2. But in general this is a very difficult story .... If children exported to Belgium, the UK, France, Denmark, Switzerland and Mexico were placed in families and most of these children were repatriated to Spain in 1939, then the children brought to the USSR were placed to orphanages, the activities of which were supervised by the specially created "Department of Special-Purpose Orphanages" at the People's Commissar of Education of the USSR. Children exported to the USSR remained here for a rather long period of time. Some of them returned to Spain between 1956 and 1959, some went to Cuba, but many remained in the USSR.

    1. Thank you Roadrunner. People leave, there remains a memory of them ... I still have Gary archives. True, there are not many of them - I didn't think that this cheerful man would leave so unexpectedly. But, the wife of Gary will give me the collections that we prepared together and we will still remember him (you're right) along with the music.

  17. Vladimir (my namesake) I didn't know you, but I feel as if I did have known you. You and I are the same generation, we have fallen in love with Rock'n'Roll in communist regimes, only in different countries.
